Our Philosophy

Every child is unique.

We believe that in order to effectively address behaviors, it’s important to understand each child’s unique qualities, experiences, and learning styles.

Every person has strengths.

It’s important to identify, celebrate, and build upon each parent and child’s strengths.

Play is powerful.

Interacting with children through play is one of the most important ways to connect and support their social and emotional development.

Mindfulness is key.

Bringing mindfulness to parenting shifts the focus to the present moment, and helps caregivers to respond intentionally, instead of reacting to challenging situations.

Self-compassion is essential.

What we say to ourselves in tough moments impacts how we feel and how we respond. This journey of parenting is hard — and there is no perfect parent — so it’s important to show ourselves grace and self-compassion every step of the way.
